Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) is an American actress, singer and dancer. Her early Broadway shows included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She received the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in the Play to play Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of well-known directors and actors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. It's also available as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford will be seen alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who created Hamilton is directing the production. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the nation's crisis, which swept up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceedings in over 100 years. Her two-season stint on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first major role. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role of Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway performances. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford currently splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
