April Lockhart

April Lockhart (born July 4, 1995) started her journey in music as a 7th grader when she started piano and guitar classes. April's first song was Different which she composed at 12 years of age. She spent lots of the time of 14 composing songs and experimenting with music. In the following months, April started going in NY and LA together with her father to help them to write songs. April added other themes to the tune "Take My Hand" for some of friends who dealt with problems like peer pressure, disabilities, and even teens who committed suicide. Lockhart has her own fan base and works as an online lifestyle blogger for the popular Ilia the Clean Beauty brand. Lockhart was never born with a left-hand, which is what makes her what she is. But that's far from the whole story. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't conceal her being disabled, but neither does it focus on it. It's a message. The message? That we are all multifaceted, and that our identity and physical selves are not all that they appear. I do not want this to determine me. I do not intend to become an influencer where it's the only thing I talk about because there are other things about my life. Lockhart speaks via video from her house in Nashville. This doesn't interfere with my life. Everything is normal and I've learned to adjust. This is also part of my life, and I think it's something that needs to be addressed. Lockhart is a true source of motivation for self-acceptance generally, is on a long road to reach this. However, she admits to going through phases of insecurity with her body and feeling uncomfortable in certain clothes which exposed her arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she likes. and she shares her photos on social networks. What makes self-love so appealing to her is the fact that it's not a goal. It's a journey, I'm not sure you'll ever get there. It's my opinion that having those with you who know you and see your feelings is crucial as they'll be the ones that remind you of what are you concerned about?
